Together Again!

Dear Church Family,

At the recent meeting of the Church Board it was decided that we would begin gathering for worship again on Sunday, June 28th. The plan is to meet outdoors in the church parking lot through the month of July and move back into the sanctuary in August. Our primary reasons for pursuing this course of action are:

o   Worshipping outdoors will more easily allow for appropriate social distancing.

o   It will simplify the need for cleaning/sanitizing areas of the church building that might be used and touched if we met indoors. We will be researching ways to most effectively and efficiently clean/sanitize prior to moving indoors.

Our criteria for outdoor worship are as follows:

o   Service time will be 9:00 – 10:00am in order to beat the heat and avoid weather that often develops later in the day.

o   Park on the perimeter of the lot or on the street in order to leave the middle area open for seating.

o   Bring your own chair, umbrella for shade, water bottle etc. and set up to allow for social distancing. (minimum 6ft.)

o   It is recommended that you bring and wear a mask. Disposable masks will be available.

o   Hand sanitizer will be available.

o   Bathrooms will be cleaned and sanitized, but we are urging that they be used only out of necessity.

o   A portable sound system will be used.

o   Julie will lead two songs acapella and printed song sheets will be provided.

o   We will not receive tithes and offerings as usual, but a basket will be available in which to place your giving or you are encouraged to continue giving online, drop it off at the office or send it in as many of you have been doing during this time.

For many of you this is welcome news and we will see you on Sunday. For others, because of the desire to exercise caution, public gatherings are still something to be avoided. Use your own discretion on this. There is no pressure to attend if you are uncomfortable with this situation. We want you to know that Pastor Sid’s sermons will still be pre-recorded and available for viewing and listening online or via CD.

It is our desire to provide the most meaningful and at the same time safest worship experience we can under present circumstances. We look forward to being together with the church family again. Please feel free to respond to this letter with your thoughts, suggestions and questions.

Grace and peace,

LNC Church Board
